Creating Storage Nominations
- Hello and welcome to Southern Star's presentation on creating storage nominations.
- In this brief tutorial, we're going to cover the different types of storage locations.
- We're gonna talk about injections and withdrawals for firm and interruptible storage agreements and briefly discuss injection nominations on a no notice contract.
- There are several storage locations on Southern Star, and it can be a bit confusing to know which location to use for different situations.
- There is basically three different ways to determine which locations to choose.
- The first is by rate area.
- All locations are identified as either production or market area The second is the rate schedule.
- The locations in green are used by firm or interruptible storage services.
- Those are your FSS and ISS agreements.
- The location in blue are only used the market-based rate storage service, which is the FS1 and IS1.
- Locations indicated with an asterisk are use on storage withdrawals only.
- These locations are used when the withdrawn quantity is to be delivered to another shipper and not used by the shippers holding the storage contract.
- When these locations were used, the transmission fuel charge is passed to the transporting shiper.
- So now let's take a look at how to nominate injections and withdrawals.
- What you see here are all of the components of a storage injection.
- And there are two transaction types commonly used for storage injections.
- 06, and 12. When your nominated quantity exceeds your daily injection limit, you will use the overrun injection transaction type of 12 Storage injections
- originate with a receipt nomination at a determined point.
- So you see in step one that we have a receipts scheduled at location 16294. That is followed with step two, a delivery to the storage location.
- And in step 2, we're using location 999-021.
- A PATH nomination is then created to tie that receipt and delivery together and transport the gas on contract TA30889.
- In step 4 is our actual injection transaction type nomination.
- So we're scheduling a receipt using transaction type 06 and the receipt location of 999-021, and we are assigning our firm storage contract as A68.
- Here we see all of the components of a storage withdrawal transaction.
- There are two common transaction types used for withdrawals.
- They are 07 and 13. When your quantity nominated for withdrawal exceeds your daily withdrawal quantity, then you will use the transaction type 13 for overrun withdrawal.
- Storage withdrawals originate with a delivery nomination out of the storage contract using either the 07 or 13 transaction-type.
- So in step one, you see that we have scheduled a deliver nomination using transaction Type 0 7 and location 999-021 coming out of our firm storage agreement SA-68.
- That is followed by a receipt from the storage location on item two using receipt location, 9-9- 9, 0-2-1.
- Then step three is the matching delivery nomination, which goes to any delivery location.
- In our example, we're delivering to location 121415. And then the final step in the process is step four, where we tie the receipt and the delivery together
- and path and transport that on contract TA30889.
- Our final example is an example of a transaction type 22, which is in injection one-sided no notice nomination.
- This transaction type is used to inject into a TSS storage account using only the TSA contract.
- It's most beneficial when the receipt is in the production area and the storage is the market area.
- In order for this to happen, the contract used must have both production, area, and market-area transport.
- So in this example, You see that we've scheduled a receipt at location 16294, which is in the production area.
- We've used the transaction type of 22 and our contract of TS-15 because it has both production and market area transport with the storage located in market.
